Jjapaguri with Steak from Movie Parasite - Korean
FAQ
Jjapaguri or Chapaguri (Korean: 짜파구리), also known in English as ram-don, is a South Korean noodle dish made by a combination of Chapagetti and Neoguri, two types of instant noodles produced by Nongshim.
As you could probably imagine, Chapaguri has been described as tasting like a spicier version of Jjapaghetti. Though the dish only contains a mild amount of spice, the added blast of flavor is more than the usual savory taste of Jjapaghetti, making for a fun twist on a comfort food favorite.
Chapagetti is the instant noodle version of a well loved dish, Jajangmyeon; Neoguri is similar to jjamppong. Jajangmyeon, also known as black bean noodles is a Korean-Chinese fusion dish that consists of noodles topped with a thick and hearty sauce made of black bean paste, diced pork and vegetables.
Jjapaguri, also called Ramdon, is a Korean noodle dish that has become quite popular from the movie “Parasite”. This recipe creates a slurp-worthy bowl of noodles that is saucy and flavorful.
Chapagetti gained global recognition after its appearance in the Oscar-winning film Parasite in 2019, where it was used in Chapaguri -- or ram-don in the film's English subtitles -- a blend of Chapaghetti and Neoguri, another of the company's spicy ramyeon products.
